Darryn leads DACB's health information law team and advises NHS providers and commissioners, central government agencies, private healthcare providers, regulators and medtech manufacturers on compliance with data protection and other legally obligations relating to the use of data. He has particular expertise in strategic projects which seek to leverage or otherwise make best of large datasets, including the set-up of Secure Data Environments as well collaborations between NHS and private sector for research based on revenue and royalty share models.
Darryn advises international clients on their data needs. This includes global businesses looking to establish themselves compliantly in the UK market as well as UK entities who need to transfer data around the world in connection with particular research or data analytics initiatives. He also has expertise in public law, particularly where this crosses over with data protection, the regulation of medical devices and fertility treatment. Darryn is therefore able not only able to help clients navigate the NHS market but also the regulatory landscape more generally.
