Dr Axel Heitmueller

xel Heitmueller is chief executive officer of Imperial College Health Partners (ICHP), an innovation agency working with industry, academia, and the NHS to drive the uptake of innovation. As part of his role at ICHP, he has overseen the development of Discover-NOW, one of the largest RWE Hubs for linked, longitudinal health data in Europe. He is also visiting professor at the Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial College London and senior associate fellow at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change. Mr Heitmueller’s professional experience includes the UK government, where he was deputy director and chief analyst at the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit in the Cabinet Office and No 10, and most recently national director for innovation and testing strategy at NHS Test and Trace.
