Jackie Scales is a recognized leader with over 15 years’ experience in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and over a decade of experience in the mining industry.
As Director, Inclusion and Diversity at Teck Resources, Jackie is a change agent, leading initiatives that disrupt bias and drive employee engagement.
Jackie is a sought-after Equity Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) advisor in mining.
Prior to Teck, she was the Leader of Deloitte’s EDI human capital and consulting practice and has held board positions with community not-for-profit organizations, such as Pride at Work Canada.
In 2021 Jackie was recognized with the CGLCC Business Leader of the Year Award for her significant contributions to the LGBTQ2S+ community in Canada.
Jackie chairs the Royal Roads University Business School Advisory Board and is an active member of the Mining Industry Human Resources Council’s Inclusion and Diversity Advisory Board, the Women’s Executive Network’s Inclusion Advisory Board and a board member for Girl in the Wild, an organization empowering young women through adventure-based learning. Jackie also served as co-chair for the Lieutenant Governor’s Forum on First Nations (Ontario) and co-founded Leaders To Be Proud Of, a national awards program recognizing gay and gay-positive business leaders.
Jackie was awarded the 2011 Lynda Bowles Spirit Award and the Royal Roads University Alumni Excellence award. Jackie holds an MBA in Executive Management with a specialization in Leadership from Royal Roads University and is a PhD candidate.
