In 1999, Tim left Warner Bros. Studio in Los Angeles and founded Vue International.
Vue grew organically and through a series of 14 strategic acquisitions. Vue is now the largest privately held cinema operator in Europe and is an industry leader with 224 state-of-the-art multiplex cinemas with 1962 screens in 8 countries across Europe.
Vue employs 9,500 staff and entertains 100 million customers a year.
Over the course of the past 35 years in cinema exhibition, Tim has achieved extensive international Board and operating experience in all major global markets. He is a well-known and highly respected industry commentator in print, radio and television and has passionately supported British and Independent film for the last 30 years.
In February 2021, the government, on a recommendation from the Department
for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, appointed Tim as Chair of the British Film Institute.
In December 2020 and December 2021, Variety Magazine named Tim one of the 500 most influential business leaders shaping the global $2 trillion entertainment industry. Tim was also named one of the top five entertainment innovators of the
year by the Hollywood Reporter and one of the “20 Most Influential People in Film” by The Independent newspaper.
