Barbara Ghinelli

Barbara is a leading expert on the development of place-based clusters. As the Business Development Director at UKRI-STFC she oversees the development and management of clusters on the Harwell and Daresbury Campuses. She has been instrumental in establishing a high profile for the Space and the Health Tech Clusters and leads the development of new clusters including Energy Tech and Quantum.

Barbara joined UKRI-STFC in 2010 from EADS Astrium (now Airbus DS), where she managed Business Development across Europe for the 3.2 billion Euro joint ESA / EU Earth Observation Programme for Global Monitoring of Environment and Security (now Copernicus). She graduated in Electronic Engineering at the University of York and completed her PhD in Artificial Intelligence and Radar Imaging at the University of Sheffield.
