Air Canada, WestJet say July 31 was busiest flying day ever

Both Air Canada and WestJet set all-time single-day records for number of passengers on 31 July 2015, the Friday before what was a long weekend in most of the country. Air Canada said it flew more than 150,000 passengers while WestJet flew 72,240 passengers. Read more...

Canada's OMERS raises C$260 million in new VC funding
The fund's venture-capital arm, Omers Ventures, raised money from technology giant Cisco Systems Inc and Chamber member Bank of Montreal. Shopify was the first of Omers Ventures' 24 startup investments to go public. Other holdings include Hootsuite Media Inc., and Vision Critical Communications Inc. and D2L Corp., all of which are often cited as near-term IPO prospects. Read more...


Canary Wharf Group launches registration for 800 riverside homes at former Shell Centre
Chamber Board Director, Chairman and CEO of Canary Wharf Group Sir George Iacobescu said the scheme will contain "some of the most contemporary homes available in London". The former Shell Centre will go through a £1bn renovation and will comprise of 868 homes, 530,000 sq ft of office space and 48,000 sq ft of retail space.
